Day 7...A day of rest.

Sunday was my day to take off from my workout... I have stayed on track with my goal of working out 6 days a week & resting one day. I already feel my body changing after ONE WEEK! Isn't that awesome? And motivating to keep going? I think its a combination of eating healthy AND exercising along with it... I have been working out at least 30 min each day and keeping my heart rate up while doing it. I am not sure if I lost any weight this week because we don't have a scale with us in Texas but I can tell my clothes are fitting much better! Yippee!!!!!! :)

On Sunday Jace & I went down to the pool & just relaxed because it was way too hot to go to the game at 4 p.m. After the pool we showered & got in comfy clothes.... Jace snuggled up with me while I dug my nose into my book "A Mom After God's Own Heart".... I want to start sharing things I am learning from that book because I feel like it can relate to my blog. Not only am I changing my eating habits but I'm focusing more on hearing God speak to me on a daily basis. Its amazing what happens when you just sit & reflect on God. In the chapter I read on Sunday it talked about a mom who brought her favorite bible verses into the delivery room with her so the first words her baby would hear would be Gods word. How awesome!! It's never too early or too late to start teaching your children Gods word. Another lady makes breakfast every morning for her family then reads a scripture with them before they all go their different directions. My prayer is that I can too start doing something with Jace on a daily basis.. I do pray with him but yet have I just read the bible to him. Another way to share the word with your kids is to post scripture throughout your house. That is what my older sister does throughout her entire home. She puts it on the mirrors, fridge, walls, frames, etc.. while I was pregnant I did this as well... such affirmations help you stay focused throughout your day!

Here is a verse to reflect on today.... Something that is easy to explain to your kids & something to focus on as a family...

"And whatever you do, do it whole heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." Colossians 3:23

*** I am doing this Detox for God, not for men.
