Monday, monday, monday!!!! It was SOOOO hot outside on Monday! I decided for my workout today that I was going to go for a run, a 30 min run at that. I didn't realize just how hot it is here in Texas at 11:30 a.m.... I left Jeremy & Jace while I went to run around the apartment complex. I got my stopwatch going to keep track of how long I've been gone & took off... I just ran a big circle around the complex but I was so fortunate to find 2 hills along the way! ;-) I was DYING after my 2 time around the complex.... this began to frustrate me because before my pregnancy I could run 3 miles like it was nothing... today it seemed like I was never going to make it.... I couldn't breathe, my legs were already hurting, & I considered just going inside bc it was JUST TOO HOT... but then in the back of my mind I began to remember what one of my mentors always says... "You are not big steps from anything, you are small shifts from everything" This is a small shift I am making towards my goal.. Also, he says "What you resists persists!" So therefore I cannot let my circumstances control me... As I kept running I told myself that the heat was not affecting me & today I am one step closer to my goal so how dare I quit with only 10 minutes into my run! These positive affirmations I was telling myself really helped! I was "pressing on" toward my goal! I know 30 minutes might not seem like alot to you other athletes but I praised myself for finishing it! It was my small shift of the day! What small shifts can you make in your life to press on towards your goal to win the prize???? I still have 20 days left to go to make my 10 pound weight loss but bring it on :)
